The importance of regular equine worming or testing cannot be overstated as untreated parasitic infestations can cause many equine health problems. This can be such conditions as tail rubbing, colic, loss of condition, poor performance, coughing, anaemia, diarrhoea and even at worst death.

By researching and constantly monitoring available data, continuous professional development and by regular contact with the manufacturers we aim to provide a relevant advice service on animal health issues and to protect your horse from the risk of parasite damage. Designed to run alongside other practical suggestions such as pasture management, worm egg counting, tapeworm testing and monitoring and where necessary advice from your vet for specific occasions.

Herbs For Horses?

We have an extensive range of herbs for horses ranging from Agnus Castus (often used for for the stroppy mare) to Veteran Supplement (a general supplement for the older horse). Horses being natural herbivores often spend time looking for herbs within the pastures they graze.

Worm Egg Counts?

Faecal worm egg counts and tapeworm saliva tests will provide information which will help our SQP's to advise you on an overall horse health plan including worming when necessary. Worm egg counts can help to identify those horses that have a burden and are the heavier shedders of infective larvae on the pasture and testing for tapeworm help us decide on the frequency of specific tapeworm treatments.
