has been awarded the prestigious accolade of Virbac Equine SQP of
the Year 2013. Presented by Countryfile presenter, ecologist and
journalist Ellie Harrison at the NEC, the national competition
rewards the suitably qualified person (SQP) who is judged to offer
the best advice to his or her customers in the UK.
Simon, who has been in the equine market
for 38 years, clinched the coveted award, beating beating 5 other
finalists. His outstanding breadth of knowledge, professionalism and
ability to provide informed and responsible advice for every horse’s
need led to his nomination by his customers.
Simon commented of this honour: “I am
delighted to accept the award on behalf of all the hard working and
diligent E- SQPS who help maintain a professional service of animal
health planning throughout the UK. I am dedicated and determined to
uphold these standards providing the best possible level of equine
care. ”
The equine animal health plan is administered by Simon Wetherald E-SQP who is
registered with AMTRA (Animal Medicines Training Regulatory
Authority) the scheme provides
help and guidance to ensure the best protection for all horses cats
and dogs with
regard to worming and flea control. Simon is ably assisted by Miss
Kelly Rothery also an experienced E-SQP

Medicines Regulations 2011 came into force on 1 October 2011 and
state, amongst other things, that POM-VPS and NFA-VPS veterinary

inspection and approval of premises on behalf of the Secretary of
State.
