What to look for

It is very difficult to tell whether a horse has a worm burden even healthy horses are effected by worms and the signs are sub clinical (i.e. difficult to see) that is why it is important to worm or test all horses regularly and tactically.

 

It is more often the more severe cases when symptoms are seen, the  signs being
 

  Loss of condition
  Loss of weight
  Poor appetite
  Diarrhoea
  Lack of energy
  Colic
  Swelling of the legs and stomach
  Swelling of the sheath
