Drontal Plus
Dog Dosage:
1 tablet per 10kg (22lbs)
bodyweight. The tablets can be given directly to the dog or
disguised in food. No starvation is needed before, or after
treatment
Puppies
and Small Dogs:
½-2 kg bodyweight
= ¼ tablet
3-5 kg bodyweight
= ½ tablet
6-10 kg
bodyweight = 1 tablet
Medium
Dogs:
11-15 kg
bodyweight = 1½ tablets
16-20 kg
bodyweight = 2 tablets
21-25 kg
bodyweight = 2½ tablets
26-30 kg
bodyweight = 3 tablets
Large
Dogs:
31-35 kg
bodyweight = 3½ tablets
36-40 kg
bodyweight = 4 tablets
For the control
of Toxocara, nursing bitches should be dosed 2 weeks after giving
birth and every 2 weeks until weaning. Puppies should be treated at
2 weeks of age and every 2 weeks until 12 weeks of age. Thereafter
they should be treated at 3 months intervals. It is advisable to
treat the butch at the same time as the puppies. For routine control
of adult dogs should be treated every 3 months. In the event of
roundworm infection a repeat dose should be given after 14 days.
Drontal Dog
XL Dosage:
For oral
administration only.
1 Drontal Plus XL
per 35 kg bodyweight plus 1 standard Drontal Plus Tablet, for each
additional 10 kg bodyweight. The tablets can be given directly to
the dog or disguised in food. No starvation is needed before, or
after treatment. For rountine treatment a single dose is
recommended. For the control of Toxocara, nursing bitches should be
dosed 2 weeks after giving birth and every 2 weeks until weaning.
For rountine
control, adult dogs should be treated every 3 months. In the event
of heavy roundworm infestation a repeat dose should be given after
14 days
Worms controlled include -
Ascarids:Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina Hookworms:Uncinaria
stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum Whipworms:Trichuris vulpis
Dosage and administration - 1 ml
suspension/kg body weight administered orally. It is
recommended that treatment with Drontal Puppy Suspension should
start at 2 weeks of age and be repeated at two weekly intervals
until 12 weeks of age. The product may be given directly to the
animal or mixed with the food. There are no special dietary
precautions to be taken. Mix the product by inversion of the
container before withdrawing the required dose. Puppies should be
treated at 2 weeks of age and at 2 week intervals until 12 weeks of
age.
Drontal Cat
Tablets Dosage:
Give 1 tablet per
4 kg (9lbs) bodyweight. The coated tablets should be given directly
but if necessary can be disguised in food. The tablets are scored
into halves to enable a range of weights to be treated.
e.g.
2 kg bodyweight =
½ tablet
4 kg bodyweight =
1 tablet
6 kg bodyweight =
1 ½ tablets.
Drontal Cat XL
Dosage:
Give a single
treatment of 1 tablet per 6 kg (13lbs) bodyweight. The coated
tablets should be given directly but if necessary can be disguised
in food.
